The journey of Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez was born in 1961 in New Jersey. Her father was a Cuban dock worker working in New York. Thus, it is in this city that Narciso Rodriguez studied, first at the New School then at the Parsons School of Design in which he took styling courses. Once his diploma in hand, he entered as an assistant stylist at Calvin Klein where he learned to create simple but elegant clothes. Following this four-year experience, he entered as Creative Director at TSE and Cerruti, presenting his first collections for the two fashion houses in 1996. That same year, he was appointed design consultant by Anne Klein for her collection intended for Asia. However, it was when he designed the wedding dress for his friend Carolyn Bessette Kennedy that his career immediately took center stage. The following year, Narciso Rodriguez then launched his own fashion house and paraded in Milan in 1997 and 1999. At the same time, in 1998, he received the CFDA Perry Ellis award for the best new designer of women’s ready-to-wear. as well as the Aiguille d’Or in Madrid. The year 2001 was marked by his return to his hometown and so he organized a parade under his own name in New York. Likewise, he signed his first Perfumes and Cosmetics license agreement with Beauté Prestige International.

Narciso Rodriguez’s perfumery

It was in 2003 that Narciso’s first perfume was launched Rodriguez, in tribute to his late friend Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. This one is called For Her and is still considered to be the most beautiful creation of Narciso Rodriguez. This juice was followed, in 2007, by its male counterpart named For Him. Since that day, many fragrances have emerged within the house of Narciso Rodriguez. Each of them is intended to be intimate, nuanced and daring at the same time. The Narciso Rodriguez style is characterized by unparalleled rigor associated with extraordinary sensuality. Likewise, if Narciso Rodriguez likes to play on the duality of black and color in his couture creations, he likes to develop very contrasting juices. Narciso Rodriguez seems to have given birth to a new expression: the eternal feminine. Each of his creations embodies a way of being, both classic and modern, skilfully combining sensuality and elegance, as if to achieve timelessness. The universe of Narciso Rodriguez thus turns out to be particularly poetic and very worked.
