Escapade in the Mediterranean, Rochas’ new journey

Imagine yourself: the air is soft and clear. You close your eyes and listen to the song of the waves crashing over the rocks and splashing a sandy beach. There, a silvery stream of water is heard and seems to quiver straight from a waterfall. The image is heavenly and has the air of a long-awaited vacation. Also, this is precisely what it is about in the new perfume of Rochas: Eau de Rochas Escapade en Méditerranée. This one is announced as being a revisit of the emblematic Eau de Rochas , thought for the occasion in an even fresher, marine and relaxed way.

The landscape imagined by Rochas

The story of the new Eau de Rochas Escapade en Méditerranée began in 1969, when Nicolas Mamounas, nose of the Rochas house, went to Greece. It was there that he watched the sun rise over Delphi. The beauty of the place immediately fascinated him. He was literally captivated by the play of golden powdery light of the sun reflecting on the perpetual sliding of a waterfall. He was actually facing the bluish rock of the Castalie spring. He then used the olfactory subtleties of this emotionally charged place to make a perfume. This is how the emblematic Eau de Rochas came to life a year later. Also, once again, in 2016, Rochas decided to take us on a trip. Again, the decor is typically Mediterranean. Besides, Greece still seems to be omnipresent. Indeed, the new bluish gradient hue of the bottle of Eau de Rochas Escapade en Méditerranée is undoubtedly reminiscent of a typical landscape of the Cycladic islands. Its heavy glass walls appear to have been carved out of rock and shaped by the rippling waves. The whole is absolutely poetic and limpid and evokes the crystalline and turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. In this sense, the new Eau de Rochas Escapade en Méditerranée is irremediably in line with its predecessor.

The fresh scent of Eau de Rochas Escapade in the Mediterranean

On the scent side, maritime freshness is also part of the game. L’Eau de Rochas Escapade en Méditerranée begins with a sensation of extreme liveliness. Its top notes are composed of lemon, a citrus fruit with a fresh, light and tangy scent. What’s more, it is associated with bergamot, a fruit from the cross between lemon and sour orange. This releases zesty, sparkling and sweet scents. Then, little by little, Escapade en Méditerranée evolves towards a more floral heart. Orange blossom, a typical ingredient of the Mediterranean region, enriches all of its floral, luminous and powdery scent. Sambac jasmine is richer, warmer and more opulent. Nevertheless, the basil comes to contrast all of its aromatic scent. It gives off more green and spicy aromas, at the same time strengthening the character of the essence. Finally, the background of Eau de Rochas Escapade en Méditerranée is more intense. Ambergris and musk bring their share of sensual animality, while cedar ends with a more resinous and woody scent.
